Spring Makeup

Spring Makeup

This is just a follow on from my skincare routine and is perfect makeup look for the spring racing carnivals or an everyday spring/summer look. So before I apply my makeup I use a moisturiser or sunscreen; during summer I will usually just use sunscreen and during winter I will use a moisturiser. A tip for people who plan to have their photo taken with flash photography, products containing SPF may cause flashback.

After I apply my moisturiser I go straight in with foundation. I use one pump of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation which is a medium coverage foundation, I apply this with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I then let the foundation set while I go onto my eyes.

The palette I am using for this look is from Ebay and is the Neutral 28 Palette. So again using a Real Techniques eyeshadow brush I would apply the matte white eye shadow, which you will find in the bottom left of the palette, just on the lid of my eyes. I will then take a felt liner to create a thin cat-eye look. I then finish the eyes by adding mascara to both the top and bottom of my lashes. So simple!

I then use the black and dark brown in the bottom right of the same palette to fill in my brows. I love filling in my brows, it is a great way to add definition to such a simple look. Mix colours from the palette to match your brow colour.

Now that I have finished the eyes and have let the foundation set I will contour and to do that I use an angled contour brush (the second brush in from the picture above). the contour palette I use is also from Ebay. I use the darkest shade of brown underneath my check-bones, on my temples, above my eyebrows and along my jawline. Make sure you blend this in well. I then highlight using the lightest colour in the palette with a flat blush brush (the first brush in the picture) and I apply that on top of my cheekbones, the centre of my forehead, down my nose, above my cupids bow, my chin and both sides of my jaw. To set my makeup I use the creamy/yellow colour next to the white with a Real Techniques powder brush and then I apply my lipstick, the one I am using for this look is an by Innoxa and is called Tangerine.

I hope you like this look, let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.
